Billy Brown is a former Singer/Guitarist and INEGO is a 4 piece Manchester based pop/ Leika is a melodic rock band mainly influenced songwriter with Friends of Gavin. With Friends of Gavin, Billy supported the likes of REM, BoomTown Rats, The Alarm, Ian Dury, amongst many others. Headlining in their own right, they toured throughout the UK, Holland, and France, including places such as Stonehenge, The Marquee, Dingwalls, The 100 Club, The Venue and so many more famous places, which some have now sadly gone. In 1990 Billy teamed up with Jimmy Brown (no relation) who had a club hit with a song called Free Spirit. He co-wrote a further hit called Open Your Eyes. This was under Jimmy’s project Orchestra JB, and can be found in many remixes on YouTube™, who later released an album called Tambourine Fever on East West records in the USA. Billy co-wrote and performed on other tracks, most notably the harmonica along with backing vocals. With the new line-up the band quickly got to work writing material and playing a series of gigs all over the country (Inc. Manchester, Liverpool, London, and Birmingham). They released their latest single ‘Always the Same’, with the producers at Sugarhouse music, spurring a launch gig at the esteemed Dublin Castle in London. Without hesitation the band released a music video for the single, with director Will Robinson. Since then INEGO has continued to perform gigs and festivals, most recently at the Manchester Academy. From supporting The Stranglers, to getting their single mixed by Dan Hawkins of The Darkness, the band had great times and they had really bad times, but all the while Pete kept writing and by the time the band broke up in 2010, a mountain of untouched songs and new ideas had evolved.
