My grandfather Joseph painted landscapes, portraits
and animals. I could not paint what he tried to teach me
at an early age so he told me to paint with my heart and
that my mind was my camera.
I have not always painted by candle light. When I was
20 I started to paint by candle light and I felt more spiritually connected to my art and my grandfather by doing so. It also allowed me to see color in a different
spectrum.
It depends on the size and my inspiration for the piece
at the moment. Usually an 8x11 takes about 15 to 20
minutes and larger pieces a half an hour to an hour.

I do not work out of a studio; I paint in my bedroom on
my floor, canvas flat on the ground, or on my bed. Sometimes I will paint in the park against a tree with nature
as I am dealing with natural light.
One day I would like to, but at the moment I am not
ready.
I am only a painter, yet I do like to take photos.
My ideas to paint or write poetry come from people and
experiences in my life and in others. My inspirations
come from the beauty of the heart and the souls of people I meet.
I write always in rhyme and what is on my mind at the
time. I can write a poem in a minute or 5 minutes. It
depends on if I want to express more.
I see beauty everywhere, yet my grandparents on my
mother’s side had a family house in Upstate NY. We
went there all the time. So my originality comes from
nature as nature is in my heart, mind and soul. I have
always counted on nature whenever I was happy or sad
or needed to be inspired.
I was inspired to paint for charities because I want to
help others and I can't do it financially. So, what better
way than to have it given to charities to help others?
My art sells in silent auctions and brings beauty to a
home.
