You may not always see these individuals at work , or consider what they do — at least until it snows and you need them to clear the roads . But the City of Somerset Street Department operates yearround
The Somerset Street Department operates with a workforce of seven men and seven vehicles , including a street sweeper . Six of these vehicles are Ford F550 dump trucks that purchased in May of this year . There are also two tractors for mowing and a backhoe for various projects .
“ During the summer , we mow the numerous properties the city owns ,” said Hargis , Street Superintendent
