Not all of his work falls into the technical operations of the hospital but each job is as important as any other . Woods said his duties often send him to various spots in the hospital where he repairs toilets , fixes burned out and malfunctioning lights and checks electrical boxes and breakers .
“ If there is a winter storm , we ’ re called on to go get people ,” he said . “ Then we call in landscaping to salt the sidewalks and walkways . We also fix doors , electric motors and ballasts . And toilets . There ’ s always a toilet needing to be fixed !”
The “ fixing ” department is located in the back of the hospital , an intricately designed web of rooms containing highly technical machines , valves and ducts that keep the facility going . Emergency situations require that the electrical functions of
