Helping mothers is life ’ s work for Jennifer Reeder

Jennifer Reeder has been the executive director of AA Women ’ s Services for four years after serving 25 years in women ’ s ministry .

AA Women ’ s Services has provided mothers in the Tri-County area with necessary supplies , words of wisdom , and a safe space for 35 years .
Reeder dedicates her time to aiding single or expectant mothers while also working to help them better their situation .
“ We help any mom , even if it means referring them to a pregnancy center or resources in their area ,” she said .
Reeder added that during her tenure as Executive Director , “ we have helped over 300 moms in the last three years . Over 62 babies have been born , and over 600 children have been loved on and helped . Many moms came to our program after their infants were born and had more than one child under 3 .” For Reeder , her job is not really a job : it is a profound blessing .
One example of such a blessing that Reeder remembers vividly is helping to procure a special formula for a premature baby in Texas during a formula shortage .
“ The baby needed a special formula because he was born prematurely ,” she recalled . “ They couldn ’ t find it anywhere ... We actually had the kind of formula he needed and we shipped it to Texas .”
Reeder first found herself serving the community within her local church . As a mother of three , though , Reeder began to turn her focus toward motherhood and its relationship with God .
She said , “ When I became a stay at
