“ I just love it when the children come in and I see the joy on their faces when they go in the candy aisle ,” she said . “ Their faces just light up .”
Sizemore is just as well versed on some regular customers as well . If he ’ s stocking the coffee or cappuccino machines and is needed at the register , he quickly goes to the register to ensure that customers move quickly through the line .
The two are also helpful in making sure their customers get the best value for their money . If an item

or purchasing two items gets a discount , they never waver in letting the customers know . Those special tips are another factor that keep customers coming back .
But dealing with the public is sometimes challenging , especially when the customer is unappreciative .
“ There are some people who aren ’ t very friendly and are in a hurry ,” Ornduff said . “ Mostly that ’ s travelers , people just passing through in a hurry to get somewhere else . For the most part , everyone from around here is very nice .”
Sizemore keeps his positive attitude in those situations .

“ If I have a customer who ’ s being rude , I just keep smiling and bite my tongue ,” he said . “ Life is too short to be unhappy . I just smile and go on .”
They keep that outlook , day to day , night to night , weekends and holidays . Even then , while other people may be at home with their families , they keep smiling and greeting their customers with the same warm welcome they exhibit every day .
“ I like working here ,” Sizemore said . “ We know our customers , we have good employees . I came back here and I don ’ t plan on leaving .”
