The adventure of a lifetime
Much-loved, BAFTA-winning series Race Across the World returns for a fifth season. Five intrepid duos are tasked with undertaking the trip of a lifetime – racing over 14,000km across the world’ s largest continent, Asia, taking in three of its most diverse and fascinating nations – China, Nepal and India. And they’ ve got to do it all with the lowest budget in Race history – just over £ 1,000 per person.
The teams race from northeastern China all the way to the southernmost tip of India – Kanniyakumari, a pilgrimage site where three mighty seas converge. They’ ll have to navigate the two most populous countries in the world – India and China – both with over 1.4 billion people and counting. With over 700 languages spoken in India alone, they must also navigate crowds, congestion and cultural barriers, as well as a multitude of vast ranging landscapes.
From navigating night markets in Vietnam to hitching rides through rural Thailand, this season is packed with tough calls, unlikely alliances, and raw, unfiltered emotion. It’ s not just a race – it’ s a crash course in humanity, culture, and pushing your limits. And for one team, a £ 20,000 prize at the finish line.
