Scotland’ s most notorious killer who was never caught
In the late 1960s, Glasgow was terrorised by a serial killer who came to be known as‘ Bible John’ – after a key witness described a man who picked up women yet quoted extensively from the Old Testament and frowned on adultery. Over the course of two years, three young women were brutally murdered after nights out at the city’ s Barrowland Ballroom. Despite Scotland’ s biggest manhunt, the killer was never caught, and the mystery has haunted the nation for more than 50 years. This documentary revisits the unsolved case, examining the police investigation, the culture of fear it created, and the enduring speculation around the man who slipped through the net, leaving families and a country without answers.
