Unpacking the system through real crimes, past convictions, and the people caught in between

In each episode, real sentencing hearings are reconstructed. The facts of each case are examined, allowing viewers to decide what sentence they think a criminal offender deserves before it’ s revealed what sentence the judge actually passed. Also commenting on the cases are groups of people who are connected to the justice system, such as former inmates, retired judges and relatives of crime victims. The sentences are often not what everyone expects. What would you decide?
