Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I: Prisoner Queens |
The Brontes & Me: Sisters of Disruption |
|||||
After 500 years of lies, the truth revealed Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I are two of the most famous figures in British history. Elizabeth was less than three years old when Henry VIII arranged for a Calais swordsman to sever her mother Anne’ s head at the Tower of London on 19th May 1536. Elizabeth is commonly, but inaccurately, said to have referred to her mother only twice in her reign. The truth is far more complex and fascinating. Both women broke the mould for a Tudor Queen and both had a relationship with the Tower of London.
