My practice derives from, and centres around, an interest in people and society. My pieces can be viewed as anecdotal evidence: pieces which allude to an earlier event. I work as a narrator, conjuring protagonists and their consequent environments or scenarios, to build a vocabulary of making, to evoke stories. Employing makeshift methods and using everyday materials; through appropriation and interruption, I look to challenge expectations, raise questions about and essentially subvert respectable social norms and assumptions: I offer up propositions: alternatives to the norm.
