I am fascinated by the poetic phenomena of mental images and physical sense of presence that encounters with matter and material can produce. I usually use materials such as metal, concrete, charcoal, and graphite for their raw qualities and resistance, and work with them by creating gestures and constructing structures which are raw and exposed.

I seek to preserve their raw, brutal, rough, inherent traits while expressing my inner experiences and perceptions of the world around me. I am interested in attentively exploring the nature, dynamics, and characteristics of different materials, in creating tactile sensations and awareness to each component as well as bringing focus to the role they play within each composition.
