Jonathon Macoon
JONATHON
[HOWLING]
HAROLD
What the hell. It's worth a shot. I'll try anything at this point.
MARGORIE
I'll go call the parish office.
ACT II: Scene 1
[FOLEY: KNOCKING, PAUSE, DOOR OPPENING]
FATHER O'DONNELL
[Irish Brogue] Ah, you must be the Maccons. Margorie, Harold, and Jonathon. Please,
come in.
HAROLD
Thank you for meeting with us Father. We're hoping you can help us.
MARGORIE
I'm so sorry I was so emotional on the phone the other day, Father. We're just at our
wit's end. Poor Jonathon!
FATHER O'DONNELL
Not to worry, Mrs. Maccon. There's no doubt in my mind you're having a difficult
time of it. I must say, I was a bit...eh, taken aback when you described your son's condition.
Quite unusual. I'm not entirely sure what you think I can do for you.
MARGORIE
Well surely, we could start with an exorcism? Are there any Catholic rituals for
dealing with this sort of thing?
FATHER O'DONNELL
An exorcism, you say? That's a...well, that's a bit... well, it's just that the
performance of that particular rite is rare these days, I'm afraid.
HAROLD
Please, father! We'll convert! We'll pay a tithe! We'll [gulp] go to church every Sunday!
