But the enthusiasm with which the churches embraced those with money and actually actively campaigned for them was troubling since the credibility of the church was on the line and there wasn ’ t any justifiable reason why they stood with the unscrupulous .

If one wishes to destroy a people , a good place to start is to demolish their
institutions and religious institutions are central to a society and the minute the people start to doubt them , it is the beginning of the end for that society .
