Surround yourself with those who share your vision and who encourage you during those hard times . And discard any false belief that you will find an option with no barriers .
Ultimately , my boss sought employees who possessed the self-belief to weather storms and overcome obstacles . Staff who set for themselves higher goals and are committed to them ; those that will not be discouraged my minor setbacks along the way . He was looking for people with a character of resilience horned by the process . My niece lacked the grit to overcome the summer weather in Townsville and failed to build a career . My friend Ken gave up after only one bad season and never became a farmer .
Knowing when to quit has its wisdom , but chronic quitting indicates a deficiency in decision-making and a reluctance to confront the consequences of one ' s actions . We cannot run away from the principles that keep us grounded on the path to our goals , and expect to succeed in anything . Success demands resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity .
