Clubs and societies
A huge part of your student life will be in the connections you make. There are over 60 clubs and societies that run events and activities throughout the year where you can connect with other people and cultures. If you can’ t find a club that you like, start one!

The Monash University Postgraduate Association hosts a variety of activities from orientations, workshops and seminars to social gatherings, offering you every opportunity to build a social support system.

Sports and fitness
The Monash Sports Centre offers a gym, an open field, a rock climbing wall, multi-sport courts, and pool and foosball tables at the attached student lounge.

ACCOMMODATION

Staying on campus
On-campus accommodation is a three-minute walk from campus and is supported by live-in staff and resident mentors, making campus life a breeze. There’ s also 24-hour security, and a thriving events and activities program to help you settle into your new community. Prices range from approximately RM890 to RM3000 monthly. You can choose from twin or single rooms, single ensuite to studio apartments.
Staying off-campus
Prices will most likely vary depending on where you choose to live, but the cost typically averages around RM700 to RM860 per month.
Other living expenses
Before you begin your studies at Monash, it’ s a good idea to plan and prepare a budget. Below are some costs associated with living and studying in Malaysia, but they depend on your personal lifestyle choices and should only be used as an approximate guide. Generally, Malaysia is an affordable country.
• Phone and internet: RM30 to RM80 per month
• Groceries: RM50 to RM80 per trip
• Eating out: RM6 to RM50 per meal
• Clothing: From RM30
• Entertainment: From RM20 per event.
