Building for Your Future ...
A £26 million library redevelopment
The University of Hull is investing in a £26 million redevelopment of the Brynmor Jones Library, which will transform the building inside and out – creating an inspiring place to study, work and meet. Due for completion in 2014, the redevelopment includes everything from state-of-the-art wireless technology to a showcase for the University’s art collection. Keep up to date with what’s happening at www.hull.ac.uk/lli.
International-standard squash courts
The University’s Hull Campus squash courts recently underwent an £80,000 improvement to bring them up to international competition standard. The joint investment project by the University and England Squash and Racketball forms part of the build-up to the Allam British Open Squash Championships which will take place in Hull in 2013 and 2014. The new glass-back courts were launched recently by international squash player James Willstrop. For further information please see www.hull.ac.uk/ squashstar.
The new £6 million biomedical research facility
Home to important research into cancer and cardiovascular disease, the Allam Building is a key facility in the University’s science and health offering. Made possible thanks to a £1.5 million donation from East Yorkshire businessman and honorary Hull graduate Dr Assem Allam, the building was officially opened earlier this year.
