Local youth providers have secured funding from 22 additional funders, an average of 4 per organisation. Building on the foundation of the Universal Youth Work Fund, they attracted a quarter of a million pounds into youth work in Perth and Kinross.

Funders will welcome the extent of reach into eight new locations. This adds to the growing list of locations across Perth and Kinross which now have access to local youth provision.

As a result of the expansion, organisations are growing their workforces. Ten new youth workers and 20 new volunteers were recruited in year two, strengthening existing teams.

Together, this evidence confirms that investment in universal youth work provides a scaffolding for wider youth work development. The fact that youth services continued across all areas throughout the pandemic, whilst many youth providers struggled, is timely proof that Perth & Kinross' approach to universal youth work is paying off [see for example this report].
