Universal Credit is coming - are you ready? | Page 4

Please contact our opportunities team who will be able to offer you help and advice if you’re looking to get back into work, training, education, or work experience.

You’ll find all the information you need to help you prepare for Universal Credit here:

If you would like to talk through any worries about the introduction of Universal Credit please get in touch with your neighbourhood coach.

If you get help with your rent payments this will be paid directly to you rather than us once you start to receive Universal Credit.

This means that to avoid getting into rent arrears you will need to pay Bromford directly. To ensure your rent is paid we recommend that you set up a direct debit to transfer the money as soon as your Universal Credit payment is received.

If you have the money available you can use it to cover the cost of any changes and stay in your current home. The best thing you could do is pay a little extra on your rent account to build a credit for times when money is tight.

Budgeting is key to making sure you have enough money to cover all of your outgoings – click here to create your own personal budget plan.

Are you affected by ‘Bedroom Tax’?

Deductions will be made to your Universal Credit payment if you are

under occupying your home but you must still pay the full rent.
