Volume 1, Issue 2 Page 9 Book Review: Scar by CC Faye Scar by CC Faye is an extraordinary novel unlike many others. The story is about a young girl whose mother had died from cancer and her father being a powerful man who neglects to give her the attention she wants. She is only left with the servants and her guard for company. Kiko soon falls into world that she only glimpsed of briefly thinking they were just dreams or illusions. But, she soon finds herself kidnapped and then saved by a young 17-year old boy who happens to be a soul reaper. The soul reaper, Scar, needs Kiko as his weapon or else he will be trapped in hell forever and dismissed by his father. Kiko only wakes to find herself laying in a bed with Scar, who is naked and soon finds out that so is she. Frus- trated she confronts Scar. Scar explains it all to Kiko, leaving her even more puzzled and angrier than before. What will Scar and Kiko have to do now that she is made his weapon? And will she want to be his weapon? How will Kiko learn to accept her new life helping Scar reap enough souls? And what about her father and the servants? Then there is her undeniable attraction to Scar. What will happen next?
