Will do as I say or they will be branded as heretics. We will vilify her in the temples-”

“You have already done so without anyone caring. The people continue to love her and she has only been a princess for six months. In those six months, she has made jobs for the poor, such as the new road systems, the building projects and introduced electricity. She forced those things through despite the nobles objections.” The lady priestess, Shison countered.

“And do the nobles not hate her for it!” T’lon, a young priest in white who had brown hair with hazel eyes, exclaimed. “They have confessed to me that they are sick of her already and she will rule for a hundred years, her children perhaps after that. They hate her. In just twenty years she will become the queen and then nothing can be done.”

Another priest, in royal purple, Arch Videc U’agon a middle aged Elf with black hair rolled his brown eyes. “It does not matter what they think. It is what must be done! We must break her.”

This intrigued Aga. “How?”

Nona, a young ambitious priestess with platinum hair and blue eyes sidled up to Shison and whispered, “This could be dangerous. Asora has reprimanded Aga already. We should tread lightly.”

The elder Elf looked at the young elf coolly. “Do you think that you would be the Princess’s personal priestess? You are still in training. You are only there for a short time until another can take your place.”

“I was thinking it would be you.” Nona answered with a sugary smile.

Shison shrugged, “perhaps.”

“What are you two whispering about?” Aga demanded.

The older priestess calmly said, “We were discussing the fact that Nona could be more aggressive in getting the princess’s confidences. The more she trusts Nona the more personal her confessions will be.”

Aga smiled nastily, “you think she would trust you?”

“I have not given her reason not to trust me. I have been deferential and respectful of her. I only give her daily mass. I could try to become more intimate with her,” the blonde suggested.

“An excellent idea. Become her friend and get her to tell you her intimate secrets. Guide her to our cause, Priestess Nona,” the Arch Videc agreed enthusiastically.

Aga shouted, “no! I want to destroy her! That Human/Angel freak is an affront to the Maker! She is disgusting. She is a mutant animal not fit as royalty. I do not care how impeccable her lineage is! They only put her on throne because of her Angelic heritage. Those cretins that chose her to rule this Grand Utopian Kingdom should be punished.

We should take them to the inquisitors who will show them the errors of their ways. I doubt it would take long before they recanted their choice.” He harrumphed.

Videc Shison frowned, “the choice was made. The Angels are pleased and the nobles wanted to please the Angels or more precisely no one wanted to displease the Angels. No one in their right mind would deliberately antagonize them. They are to close to the Maker.

I do not want to cursed by them or damned by insulting the princess or causing her harm. Asora is the royal princess that cannot be undone. We must win her over to our side.”
