Optional positioning lasers can be fitted, which indicate cutting lines on the board to assist the operator in setting precise width for maximum recovery. The EG300 can also be used as a multirip, with five circular sawblades. In this configuration four of the blades are fixed for cutting standard widths and the fifth is movable. Changing the EG300 between edger and multirip operations does not take long, and this flexible design offers significant benefits, allowing customers to react quickly to changing demand. All controls, including Setworks, are on the moveable operator console which can be positioned in the most convenient place near the machine. There are driven roller s for infeed/outfeed, and feed speed is smoothly adjustable from 0-25 m/min. Modular construction in three separate parts saw unit, infeed table and outfeed table - ensures easy transportation and handling. Wood-Mizer’s EG300 edger/multirip has been in production for more than five years and during this time it has been installed by many woodworking companies. Payback times confirm the efficiency and productivity of this technology.
