By adding value to their products, Wood-Mizer
customers can achieve higher prices and find new
markets for their businesses. One of the easiest
ways to do this is to offer accurately cut squareedged timber rather than waney-edged boards.
It is possible to produce square-edged material
on a band sawmill by turning the log, but as every
sawyer knows this takes time and effort. For
maximum productivity, it is better to saw the log into
waney boards on the sawmill, and then edge the
boards on a separate machine designed for that
purpose.
