Q : What is the biggest lesson you learned in your final year of high school ? A : I think the most important lesson I learned this past year is to truly cherish the time I have with those I most love around me because time flies by . My senior year of high school has felt so surreal from juggling my courses while trying to apply to colleges to then finalizing my last graduating requirements . It ’ s crazy to look back on my time these past years .
Q : What was your favorite class throughout your entire 12 years in school ? Why ? A : It would probably have to be the American Literature course I took in my junior year at Georgia College & State University through Dual Enrollment . I truly learned a lot from professor Jeffrey MacLachlan that I believe extended beyond the classroom regarding issues such as gender and race inequalities in the America .
Q : What advice do you have for the Class of 2022 ? A : Take care and look after yourselves . Do not let your academic work consume your life . Prioritize your mental health and happiness over less significant things such as school because it is not everything . Although it may not feel like it at times , I promise everything will work out .
Q : What are your plans after high school graduation ? A : Regarding my overall future , I hope to complete my undergraduate studies in either a science such as a Biology / Chemistry or something similar like Public Health . Once I earn my bachelor ’ s degree , I plan to head to medical school for my ultimate goal of becoming a physician and practicing medicine in the state of Georgia .
What is your greatest memory from your senior year of high
school ? A . My greatest memory from my senior year was hanging out in the parking lot after senior honors night . After a whole year of not being able to see a bunch of my friends , it was great to see them and catch up . We spent hours talking and it felt like we ’ d finally gotten a taste of what our senior year was supposed to have been like was it not for
Corona .
Q . What is the biggest lesson you learned in your final year ? I learned to always try to believe in yourself . In a year with so much instability the only constant was really me and I had to trust that
whatever happened I ’ d do my best .
Q . What was your favorite class throughout your entire 12
years in school ? Why ? I think my favorite class of my entire 12 years is probably Yearbook all throughout high school . I got to take part in making our yearbook 3 years in a row and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire time in school . I also got to make a lot of friends while doing it and it ’ s given me some of my fondest memories these past
four years .
Q . What are your plans for after high school graduation ? I plan to attend Georgia Tech this fall to major in computer science . I ’ m aiming for a Master ’ s but I ’ ll have to see what my financial situation is after earning my Bachelor ’ s . I ’ m really excited to see what clubs and internship opportunities there are at Tech because computer science is something I ’ m really passionate about . Afterwards , I would like to work at a big tech company developing new technologies or improving existing ones . The likes of Google , Facebook , and Amazon come to mind . However , I think working at a smaller company developing something completely new would be more interesting in terms of what I ’ m doing , so I ’ m not completely decided yet . One thing I do know I would like to do is create a project of my own on the side to keep myself interested in computer science because jobs at FAANG companies are oftentimes repetitive .
