The Club at Lake Sinclair offers fine dining, amenities at the lake W hen Milled- geville Country Club membership and use faltered a few years ago, many members of the local community wondered what would become of the Lake Sinclair community feature. While the club boast- ed a prime location on the lake complete with a pool, clubhouse, and 18-hole championship golf course, the growth of restaurants and at- tractions in Milled- geville’s city center drew more and more people away from the club and its amenities. Now, more than two years removed from its sale to busi- nessman Ted Smith, the club has undergone a transformation making it one of Middle Georgia’s premier country clubs. “The Club at Lake Sinclair officially opened in January of 2018 after a 16-month renovation process,” says Jef- fery Allbright, The Club’s general man- ager. “We offer several unique services at The Club at Lake Sinclair, which ben- efit the Milledgeville Baldwin County Community and our Membership.” In addition to its 140-acre golf course created by Augusta National Par-3 Course designer George Cobb, The Club boasts such amenities as a 10,000-foot clubhouse, two resort-style pools, and the new location of Aubri Lane’s, now known as Aubri Lane’s at The Club. After the country club’s many years of financial hardship, the transformation it has undergone is striking, to say the least. “Ted and Joni [Smith] purchased The Club, not as a financial investment, rather as an investment in the Milled- geville Baldwin County Community,” says Allbright. “It is refreshing to work for owners who sincerely believe they have a civic duty to make their commu- nity a better place to live. The creation of TCLS is also used as a valuable tool when recruiting economic development in the MBC area.” 205040-1 200th l 77
