Little River Park helps
visitors enjoy lake
living

hen Lake Sin-
clair was first
created in 1953, its hy-
droelectric dam created
more than 400 miles of
waterfront property.
Aside from the energy
generated by the dam
and the explosion of
high-end real estate on
its shores, the new lake
also created the perfect
weekend getaway for
families across Middle
Georgia. Thanks to the
Little River Park Camp-
ground and Marina, families can enjoy a trip to the lake even if they can’t afford
a house on its shore.
“Little River Marina opened in 1953,” says the campground’s General Manag-
er Joseph Roland. “We provide RV sites along with a small store on the property
as well.”
For the past 19 years, Roland has helped
administer Little River’s waterfront camp-
ground and amenities. With a boat ramp
and docks, 130 RV campsites complete with
water, electricity, and cable TV, and even a
playground, Little River has all the makings
of a relaxing family vacation spot overlook-
ing the water.
“Our campsites are the most popular ser-
vice we provide,” says Roland. “This is due
to us being right on the lake.”
In addition to its RV hookups and ample
opportunities for recreation, Little River
also boasts a cabin complete with a queen-
sized bed, miniature kitchen, and a patio
with a fire pit and grill. From the humblest
of recreational vehicles to the compara-
tive luxury of its private cabin, Little River
Campground and Marina has something
for every weekender. With the picturesque
Lake Sinclair attracting customers to his
campground, Roland simply has to make
sure his guests are accounted for and com-
fortable.
“[My favorite part is] on the lake itself
and helping the families that stop in the
park and marina to make the most of
their time,” he says.
