It is a humbling feeling reading the names on each pedestal . The Civil War pedestal has the most with 94 names . Mexican War lists 23 names . Indians Wars has two names . World War I has eight names and World War II has 23 names . The Korean War lists two names and Vietnam has six names .

Hamby conducted the Memorial Day Ceremony 22 times as part of the Georgia Department of Veterans Services , creating a proud tradition in Union County where the community takes a day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice .
