Gold, Money, and Fame
In a city of endless wanting,
Where the desires are vultures, daunting,
We lose sight of what we hold dear,
And forget to hold our loved ones near.
The constant hunger for more and more,
A fire that consumes us to our core,
We focus on things that we crave,
And our marks on history are left engraved.
We turn a blind eye to the harm we inflict,
Our conscience ignored, our sympathy tricked,
In pursuit of gold, money, and fame,
Our humanity we slowly drain.
But in the end, what have we gained,
If all our efforts have left us strained,
Our souls like withered leaves on a tree,
Barren and lifeless, filled with debris.
Let us learn from our past mistakes,
And break free from this deadly race.
