According to the World Health Organization, suicide is the second leading cause of death, globally, for 15-29 year olds.

According to the American Association of Suicidology:

Suicide is the second leading cause of death in America for young people between the ages of 15-24.

In America, there is a suicide attempt every 30 seconds and 1 person dies from suicide every 12.3 minutes.

For every 1 female that successfully commits suicide there are 3.4 males that have taken their own life.

For every death by suicide, 147 are exposed to suicide and among those, 18 experience a major life distruption (suicide survivors).

AAS determined that white males had the highest suicide rate at 24.1% and Native Americans were second with a rate of 10.8%.
