Things like showing up to school and work on time, caring about school and taking time to study and do your homework, doing whatever chores need to be done around the house, etc. will help you feel confident that you are at least trying to do your best in life. Consider other people’s needs as well as your own.

There are so many hurting people in the world. Caring about and knowing that you might be able to help someone else can be empowering. Leah says: “I might feel ugly or stupid or whatever the case may be, but there is still someone whose path I cross that needs a smile, so I’m going to smile for that person. I’m going to make eye contact and look around and see if there is someone else who needs some encouragement or a friendly face even if I don’t feel I’m worthy.”

Be responsible. Do the things you need to do.
