Ways to Find a Bit of Hope Right Now
We've talked through some of the many places hope can come from, but what are some things you can actually do, right now, to pump a little bit of light into the darkness? Try the things on this short list to jumpstart more hopeful feelings and give you the energy to press on.
3) Seek genuine encouragement.
Believe it or not, it's okay to look at your friend, sibling, or parent and say, "Hey, I'm feeling kinda low today, like nothing works out for me, or like I'm invisible. Can you just tell me nice things about me and about the world?" Just think, if your friend said the same to you, wouldn't you jump at the chance to encourage them? Give the people in your corner a chance to show you're not alone.
2) Intentionally look up good news.
It's not often that our headlines or the boosted news content is positive, but there is some good news every single day if you know where to look for it. Just type "good news" into Google or your TikTok serch bar, and soak up the good things until you crack a smile.
1) Take pleasure in the little things.
Even when the big things in life seem to be going wrong, there are still cookies, fruit trees, flowers, babies, puppies, kittens, blankets, bloopers, movies, books, coffee, croissants, music, music videos, long walks, long naps, video games, plaid, exercise (if that's your thing), etc. It's okay to find some relief in your favorite things in
the midst of your pain.
