what is Grief?

At some point in life, everyone experiences loss. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, a painful breakup or other life changing event, the grief that results can feel overwhelming. Those experiencing grief may feel as if the sadness and sense of loss will never end but there is hope and healing available.

Grief is a natural response to the loss of someone or something very important. No matter what the context is, having to detach from someone or something can be very painful. Grief is real and should not be overlooked. If not recognized and dealt with, grief can be overwhelming and in some cases very harmful.
