When we speak of lust as it relates to relationships with the opposite sex, it can be defined this way – when a person’s body is far more important to you than is his/her soul. Lust is an intense sexual desire or appetite that is based on self-gratification and has little to do with true feelings for the other person. So often we dive into a relationship with someone out of lust. Or we fall for someone because we think they love us when actually they are just lusting. Lust is based on extreme self-indulgence, not caring about the other person and abandons the other person when it is no longer getting what it wants.
Somehow we hope lust will bring us to a happy ending. It never does. So ask yourself again, Am I in love or am I
fooling myself all the while
walking into the cruel
trap of lust? Here’s
how you can tell:
Confuse LOVE for LUST
