Radiation Therapy RTS-100 Introduction to Radiation Therapy ( 3 ) This course will acquaint the student with the history of radiation therapy and the terminology associated with diagnosis , evaluation and treatment of the cancer patient as well as those terms that relate to radiation dosage and radiation protection . 3 hours ' lecture / lab per week . Prerequisites : BIO-108 , BIO-108L , CIS-101 , MTH-141 , HS-100 ( Required , Previous or concurrent ).
RTS-101 Orientation to Clinical Education I ( 2 ) This course is designed to provide the aspiring radiation therapist with a general overview of the day-today activities in a modern radiation oncology department as well as observation of diagnostic imaging procedures pertinent to the practice of radiation therapy . 7.5 hours per day , 2 days per week . One-hour recitation is scheduled per week . Prerequisites : HS-100 , RTS-100 ( Required , Previous ). | RTS-107 , RTS-308 , PHY-111 ( Required , Concurrent ).
RTS 101R Orientation to Clinical Education I Recitation ( 0 ) This recitation course is designed to compare and contrast clinical experiences observed by each aspiring radiation therapist during their clinical rotation , and is a component of RTS 101 . The class meets one hour per week . Prerequisites : HS-100 , RTS-100 ( Required , Previous ). | RTS-107 , RTS-308 , PHY-111 ( Required , Concurrent ).
RTS-107 Principles of Medical Imaging ( 3 ) This course will introduce the student to the fundamentals of medical imaging . Topics covered include : various imaging modalities pertinent to radiation therapy , accessory equipment , body planes / sections , and digital imaging as it is related to radiation therapy procedures and related terminology Prerequisites : RTS-100 , HS-100 ( Required , Previous ). | RTS-101 , RTS-308 , PHY-111 ( Required , Concurrent ).
