POL-212 State and Local Government ( 3 ) This course offers an understanding of the structure and functioning of the Pennsylvania state legislature , courts , municipal governments and school boards within the context of federalism and discusses their impact upon the state ' s history and the daily lives of its citizens . Prerequisites : POL-299 Selected Topics in Political Science ( 3 ) The course offers a detailed study of a specialized subject area that will vary based on student / faculty interest .
