CIS-330 Networking Administration and Security ( 3 ) A more advanced study of computer systems and network administration using the latest Microsoft Server operating system . Topics include management of database , print , DHCP , DNS and other servers . Students will gain hands-on practical experience working with Windows Active Directory . File management , virtualization , Microsoft Azure cloud computing services are also discussed . Various security issues facing networks today as well as emerging technologies will be addressed . Prerequisites : CIS-230
CIS-340 Computer Forensics ( 3 ) This course introduces the student to the field of computer forensics and digital investigations . Students will learn the skills necessary to launch and complete a successful computer investigation through hands-on data acquisition , analysis , and reporting . Students will learn the components necessary to create an effective , efficient , and secure computer forensic lab . Popular tools and forensic methodologies currently used in the industry will be introduced . Network forensics and the examination of non-traditional devices will also be discussed . Students will work on hands-on labs using the software and techniques discussed in class . Prerequisites : Any 100 level CIS course ( Required , Previous ).
CIS-341 IT Security ( 3 ) In this course students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to securely manage and operate an IT infrastructure . Students will learn fundamental security basics such as the confidentiality , integrity , and availability of data in motion and data at rest , resilient network configurations , network hardening , encryption and authentication , intrusion detection , cryptography , and PKI infrastructure . In addition to becoming familiar with the threat landscape , students will learn how to identify and mitigate threats . Virtualization and storage security , incident response , and disaster recovery best practices will be discussed . Prerequisites : CIS-230 and CIS-241 or instructor permission
CIS-350 Multimedia I ( 3 ) Students will gain valuable hands-on experience creating multimedia applications that can be used for a wide variety of purposes . This course provides an overview of multimedia and its professional applications in websites , gaming , education , marketing , and entertainment . Using the latest technologies and techniques , students will integrate multiple forms of media to create an interactive website accessible to all users and platforms . Prerequisites : Any CIS course ( Required , Previous ) or instructor permission
CIS-4000 Capstone ( 3 ) This course is designed to be taken at the end of the CIS program , applying the culmination of knowledge gained in all program courses and incorporating many facets of the major . Students will work either in teams to design , develop and implement a solution to a real-world IT problem , or work independently on a comprehensive research project . Students will create a portfolio of work from their courses over their entire career in the CIS program ; along with present their project work at the end of the semester . This course offers the student a comprehensive approach to their professional development . Prerequisites : CIS-104 , CIS-204 , CIS-301 , or CIS-304 ( Required , Previous ).
