Traditional
The selection of candidates is made by the Admissions Office , which bases its decision on an evaluation of the qualifications of each applicant for a particular program of study . The student is notified of the decision as soon as possible after the requirements listed below have been met .
All applicants must submit the following :
First-time Students
1 . Online application found at https :// www . gmercyu . edu / undergraduate-application . Students may opt to submit the Common Application instead .
2 . Evidence of high school graduation , which can be demonstrated through an official transcript or a copy of their General Educational Development ( GED ) test results or certificate . The high school transcript should show satisfactory completion of ( or current enrollment in ) at least 16 units in prescribed and elective subjects : English 4 units Mathematics 3 units Science 3 units History 1 unit College preparatory electives 3 units
Students applying to the programs listed below who choose not to submit SAT or ACT test score also must : Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher in a subject related to their desired major ( e . g ., a biology teacher if the student is seeking admission to GMercyU ’ s Biology program ); Schedule an in-person or virtual interview with a member of the GMercyU Admissions team . Accounting - CPA Track Biology Computer Information Science ( CIS ) Education Health Professions ( Medical Laboratory Science , Occupational Science , Radiation Therapy , Radiologic Technology , Respiratory Care ) Nursing Psychology Social Work
Other applicants may be asked to submit an essay or personal statement and / or be asked to participate in an interview during the application review process .
Letters of Recommendation are not required for other programs but are recommended . If submitted , the letter of recommendation , should discuss the applicant ’ s character and promise as a university student , and should be sent from the principal , a teacher or a guidance counselor in the school from which the applicant is enrolled or recently graduated .
