What ’ s this course about ?
At the end of your first year , you ’ ll choose to specialise in geology , engineering geology or environmental geology . Your chosen pathway will get you ready for a rewarding career in the growing earth science sector – from supporting the transition to a green economy to predicting and planning against natural hazards . Along the way , you ’ ll conduct experiments in our labs using industry-leading equipment , and develop essential skills on fieldtrips to world-class geological sites in the UK and abroad .

Learn to design , construct , operate and maintain infrastructure that supports everything from buildings , transportation and flood defences , to providing safe drinking water and sanitation . Our coastal location means we can also offer you the opportunity to study practical diving and underwater engineering and infrastructure . Choose between a 3-year Bachelor ’ s degree ( BEng ) or a 4-year integrated Master ’ s degree ( MEng ).
