BA ( Hons ) Early Childhood Studies
What ’ s this course about ?
Investigate the latest research into child development and early childhood pedagogy – and develop wide-ranging professional skills – in a collaborative , supportive atmosphere . You ’ ll discover how children develop socially , physically , emotionally and psychologically , and explore factors like safeguarding , welfare and wellbeing . Crucially , you ’ ll gain lots of experience working with children , families and communities – for example , in our nursery simulation facility and our sensory suite , through therapeutic play , and via a different placement in each year of study . Alongside your degree , you can also achieve the widely recognised Early Childhood Graduate Practitioner Competencies .

104 – 112 points to include a minimum of 2 A levels , or equivalent .
Applicants must pass Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service ( DBS ) checks before starting their professional placement working with children and young people .

If you choose certain assessed practice in each year of study , you can achieve the professional accreditation of ‘ Graduate Practitioner ’ for Early Years Practice , recognised by the Department for Education and highly regarded by employers . What ’ s this course about ?
Gain accredited technical skills in 2D and 3D animation , and develop your own voice for all kinds of visual arts and media . Using industry-standard software and exploring next-gen production techniques like motion capture , you ’ ll gain advanced abilities in character animation , visual storytelling , compositing and editing . You ’ ll learn from professionals who ’ ve directed animations for Disney and Warner Bros ., and produced special effects for film franchises like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter .
