On this course , accredited by the RSB , you ’ ll learn how biochemists develop new approaches within many scientific fields , including medicine , biotechnology and the environment . You ’ ll learn from academics involved in trailblazing research – for example , the worldchanging work to engineer a plasticdigesting enzyme . You ’ ll experiment with the latest biochemistry techniques , including protein purification and genome editing . And you ’ ll study genes and clone DNA in our molecular biology labs , globally recognised as some of

112 – 120 points to include 3 A levels , or equivalent , including Biology or Chemistry , with 40 points from either A level Biology or Chemistry . For A levels which include a separate science practical component , a pass is desirable and may strengthen an application .

What ’ s this course about ?
On this course accredited by the RSB , you ’ ll be part of active research on the Solent European Marine Site , at our internationally renowned shoreside marine station . You ’ ll gain first-hand experience of active conservation projects , such as those restoring native oysters and seagrass in the Solent , as well as exploring exotic ecosystems on a fieldtrip abroad . And you can develop a host of practical skills and experience – from using the equipment on our research vessels to power boating and diving .
