Use your passion for language as a gateway to an international career by studying two languages . While developing your language skills , you can specialise in linguistics , translation and interpreting , business or teaching . A year abroad , either studying or working , will increase your cultural and linguistic awareness . You can study both of your languages at advanced level , or start a new language as a beginner . You can choose between French , German , Spanish , English as a foreign language or ( as a beginner ) Mandarin Chinese .

If successful , you ’ ll save an extra year of study , get a £ 9,000 bursary in your final year of study and gain Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ), which will enable you to teach languages in secondary schools in England and Wales after you graduate .
