Play a part in the pharmaceutical advances of the future and learn how to use modern drug tech . Practise using the skills and knowledge you learn under supervision from GPhC ( General Pharmaceutical Council ) registered pharmacists and get valuable on-the-job experience with patients and the public on placements .
BSc ( Hons ) Social Work
What ’ s this course about ?
Social workers change lives for the better and help protect some of society ’ s most vulnerable people . On this degree , approved by Social Work England , you ’ ll develop the skills you need to graduate and apply to register as a social worker . You ’ ll study varied topics and learn through simulation , group work and skills workshops .

Requirements
120 – 128 from 3 A levels , or equivalent , to include 40 points from A level Chemistry , and 40 points from an A level in a second Science subject or Mathematics . Other qualifications are considered including BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science at DDM-DDD plus A level Chemistry . For A levels which include a separate science practical component , a pass is desirable and may strengthen an application .

112 – 120 points to include a minimum of 2 A levels , or equivalent , one of which must be in a relevant subject ( Anthropology , Criminology , Critical Thinking , English , Health & Social Care , Law , Philosophy , Politics , Psychology , R . E , Sociology , Social Policy , Theology ). Access courses in Health and Social Care are also acceptable .
Successfully shortlisted applicants will be invited to a staged , holistic and multidimensional selection day which has been designed in accordance with Social Work England ' s standards . The assessment day will commence with all shortlisted applicants completing a written task , which is assessed as a pass or fail . In accordance with Social Work judgement test , which will be used alongside your application to determine your suitability for this course .
Applicants should be aware that any offer on the course is subject to passing an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service ( DBS ) check , and occupational health assessment of fitness to study , which will be conducted after enrolment on the course .
Please note : A levels in Applied Science , General Studies , Critical Thinking and Citizenship Studies are not normally accepted .
Accreditation
General Pharmaceutical Council ( GPhC )
will assess applicants ’ command of English , ability to analyse and present written information , motivation to become a social worker , knowledge of the social work profession and relevant policies and legislation and ICT skills . Applicants who pass the written assessment will be invited to attend an individual interview on the same day .
International applicants must provide a satisfactory police check / certificate of good conduct from their home country ( with a certified English translation if necessary ), before admission to the programme can be confirmed .
All successful applicants will be asked to complete confidential Occupational Health , immunisation , and Disclosure and Barring Service ( DBS ) checks .
