The University of Portsmouth Students ’ Union offers a wealth of opportunities to enrich your time at uni , gain new experience and access support and advice as you need it .
As a student at the University of Portsmouth , you are automatically a member of the Union from your very first day .
We are an independent charity , working alongside the University , to represent the views of over 25,000 + students .
We ’ re an inclusive organisation that is here to make sure we have a positive impact with every student during their time at university . Whether that ' s making a big change for lots of students or helping one student out on something that matters to them .

The Union is an activist organisation – here to help you turn your ideas into action . Leading our efforts are our team of student Elected Officers voted in by you . Each year you will have the opportunity to shape the work we do by taking part in our student elections ; whether you cast your vote or run for one of our Elected Officer positions yourself .
Our dedicated Advice Team is here to help you with advice and guidance if your experience is affected by academic or University issues .

The Union shop and reception is open five days a week during term time to answer your questions – and fulfil your need for uni merch . Get involved
You can challenge issues and make change by taking part in Have Your Say , getting involved with Union representative activity or perhaps becoming a Course Rep , a Faculty Rep , or even an Elected Officer .
Our student groups are a great way to discover a new interest , make friends and develop transferable skills .
We have sports clubs , societies , media , fundraising and volunteering opportunities . From Anime to Boxing , Choir to Scuba , there ’ s something for everyone .
