While at Monash , Hui Ling was an international student volunteer in Cambodia where she collaborated with Code . org to host the Hour of Code campaign . Under the Industry Based Learning program , she worked as a developer intern for Configura and was later recommended to intern at MIMOS Berhad , a national research and development centre .
Hui Ling was also selected for Monash CURIE ’ s prestigious undergraduate research program . Her research on using sentiment analysis to detect depression on social media and subsequently help prevent suicide attempts was published in an international journal and presented at a global conference .
