Degree apprenticeships give you a balance of academic learning and on‐the‐job practical training . So you ’ ll complete your apprenticeship with knowledge , skills and experience your employer needs , now and in the future .
What is a degree apprenticeship ?
A chance to give your employer your absolute best . You ' ll be able to work in a paid role while studying for a full university undergraduate or Master ’ s degree .
Developed by employers , professional organisations and universities , degree apprenticeships are suitable for both new recruits and established employees . They should not be confused with Foundation degrees or Learning at Work programmes ( see page 136 ).
|
What are the advantages ?
On our degree apprenticeship courses , you can :
• combine the academic study of a university degree with practical , on-the-job experience , in employment
• develop employment skills and experience required for a successful career , including project management , problemsolving and leadership abilities
• apply what you learn to real-life situations in the workplace
|
• earn while you learn – and save money too , as your employer will cover your tuition fees , while also paying you a salary
How it works
• You ’ ll be recruited by your employer as a degree apprentice or a current employee seeking professional development
• Degree apprenticeships take between one and five years to complete , depending on the course you take , your existing qualification and experience level
• You may go to university one day a week ( for around 30 weeks every year ) and work with your employer on the other four , but there are alternative delivery options

International students

Degree apprenticeship fees
Degree apprentices do not pay their own tuition fees . The Government and / or your employer pay your university fees . The endpoint assessment fee ( EPA ) is paid by the employer . This EPA is carried out by an external organisation to ensure the apprentice has met the set standards by assessing the knowledge , skills and behaviours learnt during the apprenticeship .
