INDUSTRY EXPOSURE We want to get you work-ready with a clear understanding of the role of a pharmacist, so you’ll be exposed to real-life practice environments as early as possible. From your second year onwards, you’ll undergo professional pharmacist training at experiential placement sites as part of your course. You’ll spend time in different settings working with pharmacists in: • government hospitals • private hospitals • rural clinics • community pharmacies. During your placements, you’ll have the opportunity to observe and assist the pharmacist in day-to-day duties like ward rounds, patient case reviews, patient counselling, filling prescriptions and dispensing medications. Additionally, you’ll go on pharmaceutical industry visits to enhance your knowledge on how drugs are developed, produced and marketed.
