INDUSTRY
EXPOSURE
We want to get you work-ready with a clear understanding
of the role of a pharmacist, so you’ll be exposed to real-life
practice environments as early as possible. From your
second year onwards, you’ll undergo professional
pharmacist training at experiential placement sites as part
of your course. You’ll spend time in different settings
working with pharmacists in:
• government hospitals
• private hospitals
• rural clinics
• community pharmacies.
During your placements, you’ll have the opportunity to
observe and assist the pharmacist in day-to-day duties like
ward rounds, patient case reviews, patient counselling,
filling prescriptions and dispensing medications.
Additionally, you’ll go on pharmaceutical industry visits to
enhance your knowledge on how drugs are developed,
produced and marketed.
