INTEGRATED
LEARNING
During your studies, you’ll complete at least one credit-bearing Work
Integrated Learning unit. These units teach you how to apply the academic
knowledge you’ve learned to real-world, practical situations and to
experience the kind of work environments and tasks you’re likely to
encounter when you enter the workforce.
You’ll be equipped with skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication,
negotiation, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. These units are
also designed to help you learn the skills necessary to transition from
a safe learning environment to the more complex world of work. We
currently offer three Work Integrated Learning units that cater to all areas
of study.
Task Force: Responding to global challenges
Working together with teammates from other fields of study (such as
communications, writing, global studies, gender studies, or film, television,
and screen studies), you’ll all pool your resources to draft policy and come
up with recommendations to solve a contemporary problem.
A world in crisis: Multilevel responses to global
emergencies
In this unit, you’ll put your research, negotiation and problem-solving skills
to the test in a fast-paced international crisis simulation. Use your team’s
knowledge of global politics and the media to manage the crisis and
achieve your objectives.
Workplace learning internship
This is an opportunity for you to integrate academic knowledge with
practice, and to gain first-hand experience of working in the industry.
Through experiential learning, you’ll develop your understanding of
academically-obtained knowledge and skills in the workplace environment
facilitated by academic and work supervisors. To that end, our former
students have interned with a wide variety of companies and
organisations, both in Malaysia and abroad.
