Founded in 1949 by A.D. Lindsay, former Vice-Chancellor
of the University of Oxford, to overcome the division
between arts and sciences and with “the study of modern
society” central to our curriculum, Keele has always been
different from other universities – and, 70 years later,
we’re proud that we still are today.
