International Foundation Year (IFY)/
International Degree Programme (IDP)
Why study this course?
The International Foundation Year/International Degree Programme provides
an excellent preparation for degree level study for overseas students. It is suitable
for students whose current academic qualifications and/or English language level
do not allow direct application to the first year of a Bachelor’s degree programme.
The course prepares you academically for your future studies but also
enhances your learning skills, employability and integration into British
culture and society.
What will this mean for my future?
Our course allows progression to degree courses in all subjects across
business, science, the social sciences, humanities and health. International
students wishing to study on the following Health Degree Programmes
after a Foundation Year: Adult Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy
or Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) should apply for the Health Foundation
Year. IELTS requirements vary for different Health related courses. Refer
to the International Foundation Year entry requirements web page.
INDICATIVE MODULES
The course content is flexible and
designed individually for each
student, drawing on a wide range of
Foundation Year modules. You will
take a mixture of core skills modules
together with academic modules
related to your chosen degree
programme. Additional English
language training is available as
necessary.
