300 | Veterinary Medicine
A unique partnership between two
outstanding universities, the Harper
and Keele Veterinary School brings
together two distinctive institutions
with a track record of excellence in
education and student experience, to
provide an exciting new opportunity
for students to train to become vets.
This exciting new programme will educate a
new generation of veterinary surgeons ready
to enter the modern veterinary profession.
Our veterinary students will have access to
world leading science and clinical facilities
on the Keele campus and state-of-the-art
clinical and large-animal facilities on the
Harper Adams campus. Between the two
universities we have 186 years of heritage
in the combined animal and human health
education sector, this unique experience
will provide students with the opportunity
to take advantage of two institutions with
a common commitment to excellence but
complementary skill sets and resources.
Students spend full days on either campus,
mostly at their ‘home’ site, with travel days
to the other site no more than 4 days per
month, allowing them to access specialist
facilities on a particular site. The final year
will be mostly spent on clinical rotations, with
individual days or weeks back at the home
site for tutorials.
Our fully integrated curriculum ensures that
students will relate their underpinning
knowledge to industry relevance from the
outset.
